August 2024
Dear Millington Community Schools Staff, Students, and Community,
I am writing to welcome you back to the 2024-2025 School Year and share some information about myself. I have been a member of our school community over the past twenty-two school years and have been honored to serve the district as superintendent, principal, teacher, and coach. This is my third year serving as superintendent of Millington Community Schools. I have always felt very fortunate to be a part of our community and have always been proud to send my children to Millington Community Schools.
One of the things about Millington Community Schools that I am most proud of is the fact that we offer our students a wide variety of programs and services considering that we are a small school district. We have a very caring and dedicated staff who work very hard to maintain the programs we already have, but also create new experiences for our students. During the 2023-2024 School Year, our ESPORTS Team advanced to the State Finals in its inaugural season of competition. We are also excited to announce the addition of Junior High Cross Country and a High School Girls Golf Club Team this year. Our elementary staff is working hard to meet the social-emotional needs of the students and are constantly improving the Circles Program. Both of our buildings are now staffed with a behavior interventionist, and our K-12 staff is continuing to revive our CARDS Program. We are pleased to welcome Paxton, our emotional support puppy, at Millington Jr/Sr High School. Our staff has always done a nice job meeting the needs of our students; this is evidenced by the fact that the graduation rate at Millington Jr/Sr High School continues to be one of the highest in the state, at over 98%. All students K-12 will receive breakfast and lunch during the upcoming school year. Students at Meachum Elementary School will have breakfast in the cafeteria on a rotating basis by grade level in order to offer students more hot food choices this school year.
Over the summer, our staff has been working hard to prepare for the 2024-2025 School Year, and I am confident that our team will rise to the challenge of meeting the needs of our students. My goals for the upcoming school year are to improve communication between home and school and to find ways to be more efficient in our daily operations. I am excited about the start of the upcoming school year, and I hope you are, too. Please let me know if you have any questions or if there is anything I can do to help you in the future.
Yours truly,
Steve Bouvy, Superintendent Millington Community Schools steve.bouvy@mcsdistrict.net
